Fighting for the rights of the unborn and supporting pro-life legislation has been one of my most important agendas while in Congress. I believe life begins at conception and it is our duty to protect those who cannot protect themselves. In the 112th Congress alone I have cosponsored eight pieces of legislation to combat abortion, including H.R. 3-the “No Tax Payer Funding for Abortion,” H.R. 358, the “Protect Life Act,” and H.R. 1179, the “Respect for Rights of Conscience Act.”

I will continue to fight against those who believe abortion is the right choice. I recently spoke out against President Obama’s mandate that would force religious organizations and employers to pay for contraception when providing these medications is not within their belief system. This truly is an attack on First Amendment rights and sets a dangerous precedent that could lead to employers having to pay for employee abortions or abortion triggering drugs in the future.

As your Congressman I will continue to support pro-life legislation, the denial of using tax payer funds for abortion providers, to fight for the rights of the unborn.
